My Journey to Becoming Oscar Under Pressure

In the beginning, driven by a strong desire to learn and truly understand the world of power washing, I started out like many others — curious, determined, and looking in from the outside. I reached out to local businesses for an opportunity to learn the ropes, hoping to become a part of their story. However, those attempts were met with closed doors and rejection. 

My journey into power washing started humbly — with a basic electric washer that died a few hours into a job. I rented one from Home Depot to finish the work, and it was so reliable I bought it.

Picture this: a garden hose, a gas tank, a pressure wand, and a dream — all crammed into a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon coupe. Not exactly your average setup, but you have to start somewhere. 

That first upgrade was just the beginning. In those early days, the challenges were real, and there were times I almost gave up. But something in me said, keep going. I’m here today because I chose not to quit.

As the challenges grew, so did our equipment and ambition — from a coupe, to a minivan (still our backup), to a fully equipped truck ready for anything. I started with no experience, but made the most of what I had. I didn’t just collect tools; I built real knowledge from the ground up.

Today, Oscar Under Pressure is more than just a power washing business. We’re known for delivering standout results with top-tier equipment and hard-earned skill  thanks to lessons from seasoned pros, hands-on experience, and a whole lot of late nights studying YouTube, Google searches, Facebook group debates, and industry conventions. You could say I’m YouTube Certified with honors, backed by a master’s degree in trial and error.

But what really drives me? I genuinely love what I do. There’s something special about meeting new people, understanding what they need, and delivering results that go above and beyond. To me, they’re not just customers, they’re part of the journey.

Nothing beats seeing a customer’s face light up when their home is brought back to life.

I didn’t let setbacks stop me. Instead, I carved out my own path and became self-taught, learning the trade one job at a time. Every rejection fueled my drive to get better. What started as a search for skill and knowledge became the foundation of my own brand — Oscar Under Pressure.

Fast forward to today, Oscar Under Pressure stands proudly among those very businesses as their peer, their rival, their competition. It’s a testament to where ambition and hard work can lead. It’s a reminder that sometimes, those who don't open their doors to you are unknowingly opening your path to something greater.

Now, standing in the industry I once dreamed of joining, I carry the stories of every home I’ve renewed and the trust of those I’ve served. Every “no” became a stepping stone that helped build this business. How's that for a transformation!?

Before power washing, I spent my teen years in the restaurant world — starting as a dishwasher and working my way up in the kitchen. I learned precision, creativity, and discipline under the guidance of experienced chefs.

While working nights in restaurants, my days were spent in construction — delivering and installing carpet, tile, and flooring across Long Island and NYC. I got hands-on experience with tile, grout, waterproofing, and floor installs, learning directly from seasoned pros.

My skills went beyond flooring — I handled light plumbing, painted with precision, and helped build paver patios and refresh landscapes. Between construction, repairs, and the restaurant grind, I stayed on the move, always learning and refining my craft.

From the kitchen to construction, every job I’ve had has sharpened my attention to detail — a trait that now defines my approach to power washing. That hands-on experience shaped the values behind my business: quality, care, and consistent results. Whether I’m restoring hardscapes or refreshing a home, I bring the same commitment to excellence every time.

But I didn’t stop there. I’ve always believed in growth, so even while hustling, I carved out time to learn. I dove into specialized training and attended industry conventions to sharpen my skills and stay on top of the latest techniques and safety practices. From mastering advanced methods to understanding different surfaces and cleaning agents, every lesson has shaped the high-level service I deliver today.

Every training and convention has helped sharpen my skills, allowing me to bring both efficiency and proven techniques to every project. With a mix of hands-on experience and ongoing learning, we’re ready to take on any challenge and exceed expectations.

My passion for fitness has been a major part of my life. In college, I jumped into Boot Camp, kickboxing, and yoga — not just for fun, but for growth. That journey led me to Xpress Body Boot Camp, where I went from participant to instructor after being handed the mic and asked to lead a class. What started as a workout became a few solid years of coaching, motivating, and learning how to lead.

Fitness taught me discipline, consistency, and how to push through discomfort — all traits I bring to my work today. It sharpened my ability to lead, listen, and deliver results with pride.
